Boudoir Photography – Frequently Asked Questions
The thought of a boudoir session can be scary. When talking to women about their sessions, I get asked many of the same questions.
So I have compiled a list of my 12 most frequently asked questions to give you some insight on preparing for a boudoir session with me!
Do you share my images?
At our studio, we prioritize the comfort of our clients above all else, especially when it comes to Boudoir Photography! We understand that embarking on this journey can be both exhilarating and nerve-wracking. It’s a transformative experience as you learn to embrace and love your body.
We fully respect your decision if you’re not ready to share your images with the world. Perhaps these photos are intended solely for yourself or your spouse and meant to be kept private. We believe that your personal preferences should guide your choices, and we support whatever feels right for you.
Rest assured that if there are any images we believe would be worth sharing, we will always seek your permission first. Your comfort and consent are of utmost importance to us. We only share what you are genuinely comfortable with, ensuring that your privacy is preserved.
If you have any specific concerns or requests regarding your boudoir experience, please don’t hesitate to let us know. We’re here to assist you and make sure your experience is empowering and enjoyable!
Do I have to wear lingerie?
You absolutely have the freedom to express your unique personality through your outfit choices, and lingerie is just one option among many! Our studio has a wide range of outfit ideas to choose from, so you’re not limited to lacy items. Our wardrobe on site offers sizes from xs to 6xl, and we also have exquisite robes, angel wings, stunning jewelry, and shoes ranging from sizes 6 to 12. Feel free to explore all the possibilities and find something that truly speaks to you!
Do you have payment plans?
We have a range of convenient payment options available for you to choose from! To secure your shoot, we require a booking retainer. After that, you can pay using a credit or debit card. We also accept alternative payment methods such as Affirm, PayPal Credit, and Afterpay, which offer flexible payment plans of up to 36 months. Additionally, we provide a cash discount for those who prefer this method of payment.
Is hair and makeup included?
At our studio, we believe in providing a pampering experience for all of our boudoir shoots, which is why hair and makeup services are included! It’s essential for you to feel truly indulged during your session, and having professional hair and makeup done is a fantastic way to achieve that. Our talented team is here to assist you in achieving the look you desire, whether it’s a natural “I woke up like this” style or a glamorous full-on transformation. We encourage you to bring any makeup ideas you have, as they can serve as inspiration for our team.
Do you Photoshop my images?
As boudoir photographers, we employ various techniques such as specific posing, angles, and lighting to highlight your best features and minimize any areas you may feel less confident about. Ensuring you feel comfortable and empowered in your photos is always our top priority.
In addition to these techniques, we also offer retouching services using professional software like Photoshop. If there are specific aspects of your image that you would like enhanced or adjusted, simply let us know, and we’ll be more than happy to accommodate your requests.
It’s important to note that if you already love your body just the way it is, there’s no need for extensive retouching. We truly appreciate and celebrate self-love and body positivity. Rest assured, unless explicitly specified, we won’t make any alterations to your body in post-production. Your satisfaction and confidence in your photos are our ultimate goals.
Where should I buy outfits?
When it comes to finding outfits for your boudoir shoot, there are several great places to explore, each offering different styles and sizing options. Some popular options include Victoria’s Secret, Forever21, Adoreme.com, Torrid, and Aerie. These retailers provide a range of choices to suit various preferences and body types.
If you have a specific outfit in mind that you haven’t been able to find, feel free to let us know, and we’ll do my best to assist you. With our knowledge and resources, we may be able to suggest alternative places where you can find that elusive item. Our goal is to ensure you have access to a wide selection of options that align perfectly with your vision for the shoot.
What type of print products do you have?
We’re thrilled to offer you a range of beautiful options to showcase and cherish your boudoir photos! Our selection includes various albums and luxury glass boxes that encapsulate the essence of your prints. In addition to these classic choices, we also have some fun and unique items available, such as peep shows, card decks, coasters, and Polaroid prints.
We understand the incredible impact of holding a physical print in your hands and seeing yourself in such a stunning way. It creates a surreal and magical experience. Our team is passionate about providing you with tangible reminders of your boudoir shoot that you can treasure for a lifetime.
Whether you choose an album, glass box, or any of our other exciting options, we can assure you that each one is crafted with utmost care and attention to detail. Your images deserve to be celebrated in a very special way, and we’re here to make that happen.
Do you offer digitals? FAQ’s on a boudoir shoot
At our studio, every package includes a selection of digital images for your convenience. However, we also offer an A La Carte list where you have the flexibility to customize your package further. On this list, you have the option to add additional digital images to your collection.
These digital images will be delivered to you in a secure, locked online gallery. From there, you can easily download and share them as desired, ensuring you have convenient access to your stunning photos. We understand the importance of preserving and sharing your cherished moments, and our digital options are designed to provide you with the utmost convenience and flexibility.
I’m freaking out! How can I calm my nerves?
Nerves are a natural part of the boudoir experience, and it’s completely normal to feel a little anxious before your shoot. In fact, we often find that the initial nervousness enhances the sense of awe and excitement when you see your photos for the first time. It’s all part of the journey!
Rest assured, you’re not alone in feeling nervous. In fact, none of the 600+ women we have photographed have been exempt from those pre-shoot jitters. It’s a testament to the significance and power of the boudoir experience. Our team understands this perfectly and is dedicated to creating a supportive and comfortable environment, ensuring that you feel at ease throughout the entire process.
Remember, those nerves will dissipate as we guide you through the session, and you’ll be left with a collection of breathtaking photos that showcase your beauty and confidence. Embrace the nerves as a sign that something incredible is about to happen, and we’ll take care of the rest!
How many outfits should I bring?
We highly recommend you bring 4-6 outfits to choose from. We always say to bring more if you can’t decide and we will help you decide at your shoot!
Should I get to my shoot early?
It’s highly recommended to arrive at your shoot approximately 10 minutes before the scheduled time. This allows us to have a brief discussion to go over your outfit choices, colors, and any specific preferences you may have. Additionally, we can create a detailed plan for your hair and makeup to ensure that we perfectly capture the desired look and style you envision. Arriving a little early ensures that we maximize our time together and create a seamless experience from start to finish.
Where is your studio located?
