Save the date cards

If you’re recently engaged, and planning a wedding, I can only imagine you have started to think about save the dates. Are they worth it? Are they required? Should we spend the money or cut this out to save some money?

Speaking from a 2020 bride who recently tied the knot, I think Save the Dates and save the new dates (ie wedding date change) are 100% worth it. We sent ours out in December so they doubled as Christmas cards and our guests had something festive for their fridge. It was a nice reminder for all of our guests to literally save the date.

Are they required? Last time I checked, this is your wedding, so do things how you want. While not necessarily required it was a nice way to make things official with our family and friends. As my mom said, it was a nice way to announce our engagement as many people don’t put that in the newspapers anymore.

If you are looking for Save the date cards, I highly recommend Basic Invite. They go above and beyond a normal stationary company and include things like a free wedding websites that are completely customizable! They’re mobile friendly and super easy to use. You can instantly upload all of your wedding details, along with images, and a convenient map with directions for your guests. They offer 180 custom colors, and a design suite to match your wedding invitations!

Basic Invite has so many options to customize your save the date cards and/or wedding invite cards. They allow customers almost unlimited color options with instant previews online. You can change the color of each element on a card, with over 180 different color options. The card can be exactly how you want it, down to the littlest detail. This is what sets them apart from any other online stationery company.

They have custom samples, in case you want to see the card’s paper quality and how it will print before you place your final order.  Plus over 40 different colors of envelopes to help your invite or save the date card to stand out even before it is opened. The envelopes are peel and seal – no licking 100’s of envelopes here!

If that wasn’t enough options, they do have over 900 wedding invitation sets. This means you can have matching save the dates, invites, enclosure cards, wedding menus, wedding programs, and even matching thank you cards!

Lastly, they do a free address collection service to request your addresses. You can share a link via social media or email and collect addresses vs. asking everyone individually – and that would have saved me quite a few hours out of my day if I would have known!
