Collin & Aly chose Lavender and dark grey for their colors, inspired by their reception hall that had a lot of bright white/cream colors. They also used birch wood throughout, in all decorations. The flowers on each table, the table numbers, and escort cards all contained birch wood from Collin’s house.

Before the ceremony, the couple chose to do a “first touch”. There was a door between them and Aly gave Collin a 3 ring binder filled with notes she had written to her future husband before she had even met him, and it also included notes she wrote to him while they were dating. It was a very sweet gift. Aly read a letter he wrote for her. Then they held hands and prayed together.

After the ceremony and formal photos in the church we all traveled to Pamperin Park and to Lambeau field for photos. It had to be one of the hottest weekends of the whole year!

At the reception after dinner and speeches, the newlyweds did a washing of each others feet in place of the bouquet and garter toss and then did their first dance. Their first dance song was one thousand miles by Mark Schultz.

As a surprise, Collin’s brothers and grandmother played and sang the song he and his mother danced to.

I may have teared up slightly during the anniversary dance, because it’s not everyday that I photograph weddings where the couple has so many older couples who have been married over 50 years in their lives. I’m so happy for the couples who make it more than 50 years!
