7am, on a Monday in July. Jessica & Adam choose the engagement session date months in advance. We figured at 7am there shouldn’t be a lot of tourists around….and we were correct.
I had never been to Starved Rock before, but I’ve definitely heard of it. Unfortunately, it had rained in the days before and the main trails to the waterfall were closed. Adam & Jessica hiked the area the day before to find the best way to get to the waterfalls, by not using the main trails.
I’ve photographed a lot of engagement sessions, at all sorts of different locations, but this one takes the cake for being the most adventurous to date! I also give major props to Jessica who wore a SKIRT for the hike. We took photos on the trail and bridges and then at the waterfall itself, of course. It was the couple’s idea to go in the water, and in my opinion it was super romantic. They did say it was super cold though.
Alright, enough chatter, enjoy the photos I captured, and look out for their April 2018 Wedding photos!
