Josh and Mady met on their welcome weekend at the University of Northern Iowa, Mady originally saw him in the laundry room (without him noticing her) and she thought that he was veeeery attractive.
She was hanging out with my friends later that night and ran into him singing with his friends in the basement of the dorm. (He’s attractive AND he can sing?) Neither of them were looking for any sort of relationship, but God had different plans in mind for them.

Luckily, they had math together that following Monday so they had an excuse to see each other once again and make plans to study afterwards. Studying turned into late night talks, late night talks turned into dinners, and dinners FINALLY turned into being boyfriend and girlfriend on October 22nd, 2016.
A week after they had started dating their relationship went from 0 to 100 very quickly. Josh began to have complications with his Kidney and was in and out of the hospital for 3 months, and Mady had made the decision to move back home to Wisconsin and find her passion. The next several months were spent recovering, loving, struggling- but most importantly growing.

She said, “This year has easily been one of the most rewarding but hardest years that we have gone through, but our walks with God were greatly impacted for the better. We were each others support system and looking back we are so thankful that God had these hardships in our plans. It was a tough season for us but after many weekends traveling 300 miles, Face-timing for hours, and 11 months long distance it was time for us to be in the same state again. We knew that we were each others forever before we even started dating and talked about it constantly, although when Josh proposed on November 26th 2017 I was completely taken by surprise and I soaked up every moment and emotion I had. We are so excited to be getting married this summer and to be able to start our lives together!”

This beautiful couple found me on Facebook and I quickly decided that Hudson WI isn’t thaaaaaat far away. I’m glad I did. Working with these two on a cold winter day with snow up to my knees, we captured some awesome photos and they were fun to hang out with for an hour or so. I’m super excited to photograph their wedding in June!
