July 18th started out as a humid & hot day with a heat index warning.
The wedding colors were mint & coral.
Emma gave her bridesmaid’s paint chips of the color shades to help pick out their coral dresses.
What a neat idea!
I met up with the bride and her bridesmaids at Urban Trends Salon in Sturtevant.
After hair & makeup we headed to the church Emma grew up going to, First Presbyterian Church in Racine.
Turns out it’s thought to be part of the underground railroad.
Free tours are available to view the tunnel where escaped slaves may have hid and the wall of quilts that tell their stories.
The room where the bride and bridesmaids got ready in was gorgeous.
Arnold Jr.’s father officiated the ceremony.
Wedding party photos were held at the Racine Riverfront and the Dekoven Center.
While we were taking the formal photos, dark clouds started rolling in.
During bride & groom photos, sirens were going off.
As I arrived at the Wind Point Lighthouse to start taking detail photos of the reception before the rest of the wedding party/bride & groom got there, large raindrops starting falling.
I made it under the tent right before a huge “land hurricane” rolled in.
I love storms, but being under a white tent during the storm was a little scary for everyone.
Soon enough the storm rolled out, the sun came out and it ended up being perfect weather for a wedding.
Not to mention a pretty sunset to end the day.
Emma & Arnold chose food trucks for their reception, and I must say it was delicious!
They danced their first dance to a song that Arnold Jr. wrote, “Emma Maree”.
This was played by DJ Caleb Zovar.
